Many families still turn to violence as a way to resolve conflicts. Once again, violence remains the main reason for contacting the ANAR Phone/Chat, rising from 6,259 serious cases of violence in 2020 to 8,565 serious cases in 2021 — an increase of 36.8%.

What is worrying is not only the rise in cases, but also their severity, urgency, duration and frequency. All of these indicators have worsened significantly.

Among all forms of violence, physical and psychological abuse remain the most common.

With your signature we call for:

• The development of the LOPIVI Strategic Plan to prevent, detect and intervene to eradicate this serious problem affecting society.
• Public authorities to continue working to effectively implement Organic Law 8/2021 of 4 June, on the comprehensive protection of children and adolescents against violence.
• The Autonomous Communities to adapt their child protection laws to this new law.
• The Government, in cooperation with the Autonomous Communities, to draft and approve a national strategy to eradicate violence against children and adolescents, with specific goals and actions.
• Drafting new, consensual protocols to prevent and combat violence, in line with the Law.
• Setting up the new bodies provided for by the Law: the Welfare and Protection Coordinator in schools; the Central Register for Information on Violence against Children; specialised Courts and Prosecutors.
• Adequate budget for the implementation of the Law so that it does not remain a mere statement of intent.
